Single serve specialty (filter) coffee in just a few easy steps!
About the Coffee
Thirikwa Cooperative brings together around 3,700 smallholder farmers who deliver their cherries to the cooperative’s sole processing facility, Gakuyu-ini, established in 1997. The coffee is fully washed, carefully sorted and fermented overnight before being graded and dried on raised beds. The cooperative also prioritises sustainability, recycling processing water and returning coffee pulp to farmers to be used as organic fertiliser.
Unless otherwise indicated, we tend to always drink our drip bags black. This particular coffee is quite light in the cup and the first few sips might have you thinking it’s too light. However, as you progress you will be rewarded with a vibrant acidity with notes of berries, tart red grapefruit and sweet black tea in the finish.
