Our in-house joke is “we started roasting coffee before it was cool”. In our early days, retail customers would watch us roast and be fascinated by the whole process. They would ask us lots of questions and take pictures of everything.
A lot has changed since 2008 and coffee roasters seem to be popping up everywhere. One thing that hasn’t changed for us though, is our pursuit for great coffee and our 15+ years in business which has taught us a whole lot about how to achieve it consistently.
The driving factor behind creating this business back in ’08 was to freshly roast specialty-grade coffee and make it accessible and affordable. We take our service as seriously as our coffee, our aim is always to exceed expectations.

For us everything starts with the bean! We have great partnerships and relationships with our suppliers, this includes Australian based brokers as well as directly trading with farms.

Our pre-purchase protocol involves sample roasting and cupping various lots to confirm if they will suit our requirements. We take into consideration quality, process, traceability, price, quantity produced, quantity available, how we will roast it and most importantly how does it taste and will our customers like it!
We might cup 15 coffees and buy 5, or we might buy none. It really comes down to our sensory analysis of the coffee matched with the economics of purchasing it.
If we do decide to purchase a lot, then once it arrives it’s stored in our climate controlled warehouse.
Packaging Process
Post roast all our coffee is destoned (just to ensure only great coffee goes in the bag), and then it’s off to packaging.
We utilize a weigh-fill machine to load all our coffee into recyclable packaging. Our commitment to sustainable practices also sees us load coffee into reusable tins for many of our customers.
